AI Livestreaming on TikTok, Shopee and Beyond: Policies and Whitelisting
Syntopia makes state-of-the-art interactive AI livestreaming accessible and affordable. We’re helping pave the way for wider adoption, including helping platform teams understand this emerging format.
For TikTok, whitelisting is an additional step to help with account recognition and content classification. The AI policies reviewed do not present it as a universal prerequisite for running an AI livestream.
This guide explains the distinction, alongside policies and application routes across other platforms.
TikTok
Is AI livestreaming allowed on TikTok?
TikTok Shop’s AI-generated content policy explicitly includes LIVE videos and permits AI-generated content that meets its requirements. These include clearly disclosing AI use, presenting products accurately and respecting other people’s likenesses and intellectual property.
Start with this policy when discussing your Syntopia livestream with TikTok or your agency:
Read TikTok’s AI-generated content policy.
TikTok also publishes AI policies covering other markets. You can find those links below and use the policy applicable to your account.
What about AI-generated voices?
Some people reference TikTok’s livestream quality policy and conclude that “TikTok does not allow AI-generated voices.” That leaves out the context of the wording:
“Do not use non-real-time verbal interaction such as AI-generated voices, audio recordings, or radio.”
The surrounding requirements focus on real-time communication and audience interaction. A prerecorded video with AI narration playing without responding to viewers illustrates the non-interactive format being addressed.
An interactive AI host answering questions as viewers submit them operates differently from a prerecorded, non-interactive broadcast. Real-time interaction context matters. The sentence should be considered alongside TikTok’s AI-generated content policy, rather than used as evidence that all AI livestreaming is prohibited.
The policy does not explicitly establish an exception for every interactive AI voice setup. If you discuss your format with TikTok, demonstrate how it responds to viewers in real time.
Read TikTok’s livestream quality and interaction requirements.
Do I need whitelisting before starting?
Whitelisting is not presented as a universal prerequisite in the TikTok AI policies linked in this guide. You can run AI livestreams that meet the requirements applicable to your account and content without treating a whitelisting request as a mandatory first step.
We recommend considering whitelisting as an additional measure to help TikTok understand and correctly classify your interactive AI livestream—particularly where product explanations or visual elements repeat while your host continues responding to viewers.
Not requesting whitelisting does not, by itself, mean your account will receive a violation or be banned. Whether you request it or not, the applicable content, disclosure and interaction requirements remain relevant.
AI livestream whitelisting is already happening
AI livestream whitelisting is already being arranged through TikTok account managers, although awareness and access vary.
We have not identified a public self-service application form. If you would like to request whitelisting, contact your TikTok Key Account Manager (KAM), or ask your TikTok Shop Partner, MCN or LIVE agency to raise the request with TikTok.
Some contacts may be unfamiliar with interactive AI livestreaming or the relevant process. Explain the format, demonstrate how it works and share TikTok’s own policies.
Why consider whitelisting?
An interactive AI livestream may return to the same product, repeat an explanation for new viewers or reuse visual assets while continuing to respond to questions live.
These recurring elements may create a risk of the session being classified as repetitive, prerecorded or repurposed content without its interactive operation being fully understood.
The purpose of requesting whitelisting is to help TikTok recognise your format correctly and reduce avoidable classification issues. Explain which elements are generated in real time and which elements repeat.
Ask your account manager to confirm what any whitelisting covers. It does not automatically exempt repeated footage from content-quality requirements or guarantee that a livestream will never receive a violation.
How to request TikTok AI livestream whitelisting
If you choose to request it:
Contact your TikTok account manager. If you do not have one, ask your TikTok Shop Partner, MCN or LIVE agency whether they can raise the request through their TikTok contact.
Share the relevant policies. Include the AI-generated content policy for your market and the applicable livestream interaction requirements.
Demonstrate your Syntopia livestream. Show the host answering new viewer questions as they arrive.
Explain recurring content openly. Identify repeated product explanations, footage or visual assets.
Request AI livestream whitelisting. Ask for written confirmation of its scope and any operating requirements.
If your contact is unfamiliar with the process, ask them to escalate the request to the appropriate team.
There is no guarantee that TikTok will approve every request. More well-documented requests can nevertheless help platform teams understand demand and make the process more consistent.
TikTok AI policies by market
TikTok publishes AI-generated content guidance across multiple markets. The European policy explicitly addresses livestreams; several other markets publish broader AIGC policies that should be read alongside their LIVE requirements.
Germany, France, Italy and Spain
TikTok’s shared European AIGC policy includes AI-generated scripts, voices, avatars, images and animations. It allows compliant AIGC and explicitly identifies requirements and prohibited uses in livestreams and other content formats.
The practical focus is clear disclosure, accurate product information and responsible use of identities and likenesses.

The same policy’s applicability list also names Austria, Belgium, Czechia, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, the Netherlands, Poland and Portugal.
Use the shared European AIGC policy when discussing AI content in those markets. Inclusion in the policy’s scope does not, by itself, confirm TikTok Shop availability or seller eligibility in every listed country.

The UK AIGC policy includes AI voices and avatars and explicitly addresses livestreams. It permits compliant AI content while requiring disclosure and accurate, non-misleading product promotion.

Assistance through LiveBuzz Studio — UK and US only
Syntopia is managed by LiveBuzz Studio. Its TikTok Shop Partner assistance is available only to eligible businesses in the UK and US.
To enquire about joining LiveBuzz Studio and requesting AI livestream whitelisting, email support@syntopia.ai. Include your country, TikTok account and a brief description of your plans, and mention that you are a Syntopia user.
Consideration requires a Syntopia Starter plan or higher. LiveBuzz Studio’s services involve a separate commercial agreement, including a share of livestream revenue and applicable minimum requirements. Eligibility and terms are discussed before joining. TikTok makes the final decision on whitelisting requests.
Joining LiveBuzz Studio is optional. You can work through your existing partner or account manager, or operate compliant livestreams without requesting this additional assistance.
Outside the UK and US, contact your own TikTok account manager, local TikTok Shop Partner, MCN or LIVE agency if you would like help with whitelisting.

Getting your Syntopia livestream ready
For a smooth launch:
Clearly disclose your AI host.
Keep product details and offers accurate.
Configure useful responses to viewer questions.
Check audio, visuals and speech synchronisation.
Follow any approval requirements applicable to your platform and account.
Keep account-manager guidance available if you have requested additional support.
If you choose to request TikTok whitelisting, a practical demonstration helps platform teams understand your setup. Show how your host answers a new question and explain any recurring footage, visuals or product presentations.
Syntopia is helping pave the way with its users. TikTok whitelisting is an additional option for account recognition and clearer classification—not a universal requirement stated in the AI policies reviewed here.
