Douyin Livestream SOP
Douyin Platform Risk Control Rules:
- Douyin has no separate review rules for digital-human livestreams; instead, the same platform rules apply uniformly to all livestream types (including real-person livestreams, pre-recorded playback, and AI livestreams). Any livestream format that violates the rules will be penalized — there is no absolutely stable, risk-free way to livestream.
- The key to reducing violation risk is improving livestream quality, striving to match the experience of a high-quality real-person livestream room, focusing mainly on three aspects: the richness of the visual content, the authenticity of the voice, and the timeliness and effectiveness of interaction.
- If an account is penalized for a violation, it is recommended to pause livestreaming for 1-2 weeks before trying to go live again.
Core Principles for Avoiding Platform Risk Control:
- Reasonable livestream duration: each session should ideally be kept under 4 hours, and it's best to change the host, voice, and room decoration assets roughly every 2 hours (the Auto Shift Change feature can be used).
- Continuous improvement: with the goal of improving livestream performance, keep learning from and improving on top-performing peers.
- Scene updates: regularly adjust and replace the livestream room's background, overlays, foreground, and other visual assets (if there are no violations, change every 3 sessions; if a violation occurs, replace all scripts, assets, host, and voice entirely).
- Real-time monitoring: the operations team must closely watch the livestream room's status and respond quickly and effectively to any violation warnings issued by the platform.
Preparation Before Going Live:
- Choose a "clean" IP: make sure the IP address or IP range being used has no history of frequent violation penalties. If the current IP is found to have such issues, switch networks or IP addresses immediately.
- A dedicated network for exclusive use is preferred; if that's not possible, it's recommended that one IP be used for no more than 3 livestream rooms.
- If you need to change your IP, consult your network service provider about their dynamic IP-switching service options.
- Choose a "clean" computer: if this computer has triggered violations, reinstall the operating system and modify the system information — Clean Computer Environment.zip
Upload bandwidth should be stable at 50Mbps or above (about 6.25MB/s); test your network speed at https://www.speedtest.cn/.
Account:
Check whether the account being used has a history of frequent violations; if so, it's recommended to switch to a new account for the livestream.
Computer Specs:
CPU:i5-12400
RAM: Minimum 32GB
OS: Windows 10 or above
GPU: RTX 3060 dedicated graphics card or better, 12GB+ VRAM
Storage: M.2 SSD, 500GB or more
The system does not currently support 50-series computers.
Livestream Room Asset Preparation and Duration Guidelines:
- Control the livestream duration reasonably: a single livestream should not run too long — using the same assets, the recommended livestream duration should not exceed 4 hours in one day, with a 2-hour gap between sessions.
- Auto Shift Change: prepare at least 3-4 models and voices to rotate through, changing to a different avatar, voice, script, background, and overlay every 2 hours. See the Syntopia Digital Human Client Operation Manual for the detailed tutorial.
- Regularly update content assets: avoid using exactly the same livestream assets (such as backgrounds, overlays, looping video clips, etc.) repeatedly over a long period — they should be replaced regularly.
- Avoid repeated playback of the same assets: pay special attention to not playing the same set of assets continuously for a long, uninterrupted period.
Standard Operating Procedure for Rotating Livestream Room Assets:
- Build a differentiated asset library: prepare 3-4 different model avatars and voices, along with completely different livestream room assets (background, overlays, and other decoration assets).
- Rotate in daily segments: livestream for 8 hours a day, split into two 4-hour blocks, each using a different asset set for the livestream.
Example: on Monday morning, livestream for 2 hours using Asset Set 1, then switch to Asset Set 2 in the afternoon for 2 hours; on Tuesday morning, use Asset Set 3 for 2 hours, then switch to Asset Set 1 in the afternoon for 2 hours (and so on, mixing flexibly).
- Regular asset updates: refresh the entire asset library every two weeks (weekly is recommended), completely replacing the old assets with 3-4 brand-new asset sets.

Common Violations and Countermeasures
Cause analysis: when the livestream room keeps the same host avatar and scene for a long time without updates, and the daily livestream duration exceeds 8 hours, or public template assets are used continuously, this easily triggers the platform's automated detection system, escalating to manual review and ultimately resulting in a violation penalty.
Solution:
Step 1: change the avatar and use a private (custom) model, avoiding violations caused by too many people using a public model;
Step 2: if avatar confusion is still flagged after changing the avatar, it's recommended to first switch to a real-person host (to increase the account's weight); while the real person is livestreaming, use screen-recording software to record the livestream room, and then use that recording for training.
Step 3: after streaming stably for 3-4 days, switch back to the digital human livestream.
2. Prolonged Lack of Interaction or Repetitive, Monotonous Interaction
Cause analysis:
Core issue: the picture stays static for a prolonged period (no dynamic change from the real-scene camera / network lag causing a black screen).
Solution:
For real-scene livestreams, it's recommended to buy a camera turntable to increase visual variety.
Script rebuilding: original scripts need to be substantially rewritten to ensure content differs between sessions.
Visual iteration: make targeted adjustments to overlays and other decoration assets for each session.
Cause analysis:
Failed to complete the pop-up verification within the valid time window.
Solution:
Use the Bodyguard feature — when a pop-up is detected, it triggers a speaker alarm to alert you so you can complete verification within the valid time window. See: AI Digital Human Livestream Software "Bodyguard Feature" Usage Tutorial
4. Pre-Recorded / Non-Real-Time / Low-Frequency, Monotonous Interaction
Risk Point | Countermeasure |
Voice | 1. Record more than 20 minutes of audio; the source audio must be clean and clear with no noise whatsoever, and use it to train the V6 voice. |
Visuals | Digital human livestream: 2. Use the Auto Shift Change feature to switch to a different avatar, voice, script, and livestream room background/overlay every 2-3 hours. 3. See "Livestream Companion Common Functions Operation" for adjusting Livestream Companion parameters. Real-scene livestream: Add a camera turntable to ensure the picture changes. |
Interaction | 1. Add proactive-interaction content to the script that encourages viewer interaction. 3. Test whether interaction works normally before going live. |
Duration per Livestream Session | Digital human livestream: |
Livestream Pop-Up Verification | Time limit: all verification steps must be completed within 120 seconds; the livestream will disconnect automatically if this time is exceeded. |
Platform Flagging | When accounts associated with the same device or network environment show frequent violations, an environment security self-check must be initiated immediately (suspected to have been flagged by the platform as a risk node). 1. Use an account with a history of violations; 2. Switch to a brand-new, unused device; 3. Connect to a clean network (a new IP range not previously associated with livestream activity); 4. Run a test livestream. Solution: see the Syntopia Digital Human Pre-Livestream Checklist for the specific procedure for accounts with frequent violations.
